Although I certainly don’t worship Mary, I certainly admire her.
“The courage of Mary was to be open to something so much greater than herself and yet that claimed the most intimate knowledge of her. The greatest revelations, such as the one that took flesh in her or that we see in the miracle of each other’s ordinariness, manifest a disturbing paradox of strength and vulnerability. She was disturbed by the angel’s greeting. We glimpse this paradox in every form of love and in the attempt to give our self to others. How can we give self without conditions or the expectation of a reward?”
