I wrote about this topic a few weeks ago, but after living for 13 years in less-than-safety-conscious Ecuador, I’m a bit taken aback by how focused the U.S. is on safety. I saw this sign in front of a forest a few blocks from where we’re staying and asked if someone got hurt in there. “No,” the answer came, “the owner saw kids playing in there and didn’t want to get sued if anything happened.”
Ay-yay-yi! Does this seem ridiculous to anyone else? No wonder people have issues with fear!
