Over the last week we’ve been looking at what the wisdom of God is and the hows and how nots of having the mind of Christ.
But what if we lack wisdom? The Bible has some pretty clear-cut, although not always comfortable answers to this. First, we need to look at our attitude, for the Bible says that “Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.” Proverbs 9:10 We’ve mentioned before that the fear of the Lord is a reverence for God and a hatred of sin. So an attitude check and possible attitude adjustment is first on the wisdom checklist.
Second, we are to ask in faith. Not as a double-minded person tossed to and fro. (James 1:5-8) Remember, the faith is not in our ability to have faith, but in whom we are placing the faith. When Mike and I are low in faith in an area, we ask with what faith we have and ask God to increase our faith. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.
All Scripture is profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction, instruction in righteousness. (2 Timothy 3:16,17) Receive the teaching of the Holy Spirit.
The entrance of your words gives light. (Psalm 119:130) Receive the illumination of the Holy Spirit.
Open my eyes that I may see wondrous things from your law. (Psalm 119:18) Receive the revelation of the Holy Spirit.
Christ’s mind we have! Celebrate! Draw near!
