How many of you played the game “Hot Potato” when you were young(er)? It was always a bit out of control with a lot of screeching when we played it. The general idea was that you passed something–the hot potato–around as quickly as you could and the person caught holding the potato when the music stopped or when the game master turned around was out.
I was talking to someone dear to me the other night and it occurred to me that we should play Hot Potato with the burdens that we are tempted to carry around. We need to hot potato them to the Lord just as quickly as we can. He doesn’t want us to carry them. Worries?? Hot potato them to God just as fast as you can every time they pop into your mind.
Cast your cares on the LORD
and he will sustain you;
he will never let
the righteous be shaken. Psalm 55:22
