Luck? Jinxes?

Delta Airlines had its place in God's providence for our lives yesterday

My husband and I don’t believe in luck, but we were walking through an airport yesterday and had a conversation that went like this:

Mike:  So far this vacation has gone pretty smoothly as far as the transportation is concerned.  Not that I want to jinx us.

Sue:  That is, if you believe in jinxes.

Mike:  (With a sharp turn of his head and a rising inflection)  You don’t !?!

Sue:  Uh, no.  What’s the difference between bad luck and a jinx?

Mike:  (wonderingly) It must have something to do with you not being an athlete.  Jinxes are COMPLETELY different than luck.

All has been heard; the end of the matter is: Fear God [revere and worship Him, knowing that He is] and keep His commandments, for this is the whole of man [the full, original purpose of his creation, the object of God’s providence, the root of character, the foundation of all happiness, the adjustment to all inharmonious circumstances and conditions under the sun] and the whole [duty] for every man.  Eccl. 12:13

We can both agree on being the beneficiaries of God’s providence, which must be why Mike’s golf clubs didn’t make it to Baltimore.  (Although the airline employees were delightful and they did bring them to the house last night at midnight.)
